Helen's story so far

Caragh Helen Garden_20

Helen Turkington is considered one of Ireland’s leading interior designers, with an impressive portfolio of clients both domestically and abroad.  With a career spanning over thirty years, Helen has worked on some of the most prestigious properties in Ireland, the UK, Portugal and further afield and is often named by industry press as one of Ireland’s most influential and best-known interior designers.

Helen has always been synonymous with quiet luxury, long before it became a widely used phrase.  Her signature style of understated but unmistakable opulence and elegance, marries comfort with sophistication for enduring, elevated, timeless design.  Her level of repeat business is a testament to the quality of her work and her understanding of clients’ needs.

Helen was born into a well-known family interiors business in Cookstown, Co. Tyrone, Northern Ireland.  Her mother was an interior designer and her obsession with fabrics is in her DNA. Having worked in London for ten years in the nineties, she began to grow her own reputation in the international industry.

Helen established her iconic eponymous brand 21 years ago with a boutique store in Dunville Avenue, Ranelagh.  The business moved to a 12,000 square feet destination showroom in Stillorgan in 2017.  Alongside her bricks and mortar store, we operate an online business, and Helen designs many of the collections herself.  To this day she remains very hands on in all aspects of the business – design, store and website – and the principles she learned first hand on busy Saturday afternoons in Cookstown all those years before remain: she is passionate about helping people love the space they live in that little bit more, whether that’s through the purchase of a single lamp or a total home renovation.  Helen loves to share her passion and knowledge through social media so do follow along to learn more.
